Below is ALL of the information you need to know including:
*SUNDAY’S 5 HOUR FESTIVAL LINEUP
*HOW THE ZOOM FESTIVAL WORKS
* THE OTHER EVENTS THIS WEEKEND
We have space for 700 people to join this, with the 300 remaining spaces taken up by performers and the tech team from Isolation Station Hastings who we’ve partnered with to make this happen.
We first invite those who can to donate to our charity partners - Hastings Supports Our NHS & Friends of the Conquest Hospital - both of whom have done incredible work providing PPE and other items to the incredible NHS staff and volunteers in our town and beyond.
SUNDAY MAY 3
10.15AM - 3.45PM
We are pleased to say that Sunday’s Procession will remain virtually unchanged from this year’s planned schedule, with hundreds of people performing from their homes in Hastings and beyond.
The first section from 10.15 - 1.00pm(ish) mirrors the real procession with a mixture of live morris dancing, drumming, giants, bogies and all of the characters you would normally see, intercut with footage from years gone by of us all following Jack through the old town.
At 1.00pm we ‘reach the hill’ where we can all sit back and watch a series of beautiful performances, some of which are pre-recorded especially for this year, some of which are live streamed in real time.
And of course the most important part of our beloved festival is the audience themselves - we explain how you can be featured from your homes below.

3.30pm BANG YOUR DRUM FOR THE NHS
At 3.30pm we invite you to join us and the Section Five Drummers as we all go to our balconies, windows, gardens, and front doors to BANG YOUR DRUM AND APPLAUDE THE NHS!
Jack in the Green is all about bringing the town whole town together, and we hope that this moment will embody our unique spirit with a show of love.
3.35pm THE SLAYING OF THE JACK
The iconic finale of our festival ends with the ceremonial slaying of the Jack and the official welcoming of summer.
HOW THE ZOOM PROCESSION WORKS
Find out all you need to know about Zoom here. Link to website.
You first need to register by entering your name and email address. This is not for marketing, but so that we can run the event safely.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email with the ACTUAL LINK FOR SUNDAY.
At 10.15am, click on the link from a computer, smart phone or tablet and you will join the zoom procession as ‘AN ATTENDEE’. We recommend that you listen through the best speakers you can for the most immersive and realistic experience.
ATTENDEES can’t be seen or heard by anyone else at all, but you will be able to watch the live show. If at any time, you would like to be featured to join in the dancing and show off your decorations, you need to CLICK ‘RAISE HAND’.
Once you click ‘RAISE HAND’ our team will do our best to bring you into the action - this is called ‘PROMOTING TO PANELIST’. (We can only have a maximum of 300 screens on at a time so please be patient - we promise everyone will get a turn!).
If you accept our offer, you will be asked to turn your camera on - at this point, we could feature your camera at any time so be ready to join the action! Don’t worry - we will never hear your audio, and you can choose to turn off your camera at any time if you choose to have a rest from the action, before coming back a bit later.
Finally, we would like to let you know that the team have taken a number of measures and to make this event as safe as possible from intrusion. There are a team of invigil
